Just brilliant, some road repairs going on march 2012, just post winter maintenance did not get in the way, more an opportunity to slow down and realise the place is stunningly beautiful. great carrot cake in the cafe at the castle, relax enjoy then turn round and do it again.

Stunning, must-do route. Fast sweeping bends ...awesome scenery. Make sure you check out Eilean Donan castle at the end of it.

I travelled through this road with a pillion and cases at high speed without effort. Scenery is good, road is good, but too fast for my likes. It allow to travel fast, but thats all.

For hooligans.

Buying a sports bike and not experiencing roads like this is criminal. This road has everything as serious sportsbike rider can ask for. There are fast sweepers through forests, great elevation as you climb up the mountain, unbelievable corners everywhere especially as you ride down the valley. Then enjoy the fast coast road before you get to Skye Bridge. Be careful when passing viewing points as drivers as more concerned about the spectacular views than of you.

Another must do route for bikers! Travel the route nearly every year and I am never dissapointed. Again midweek on a dry day for the best experience. Plenty of coaches but lots of opportunities to overtake. Bring a camera and stop at Glen Garry viewpoint and Eilan Donan Castle for your postcard pics! There is a short section before the castle that is a continuous series of open bends, like short circuit riding, fantastic on any bike. Even if you have planned this as part of a route you will be strongly tempted to retrace your steps to ride it again. Road surface is very good overall. Watch out for a twisty downhill section near Glen Garry on the return trip.

I was lucky enough to use this route on a weekend trip to Applecross in August 2007. Ducati 1098, with luggage rack, and a couple of other bikes in tow. Stunning, absolutely enthralling riding, not even spoiled by torrential rain in the last 20 miles as we toiled up and over the Bealach Na Ba, at eight in the evening, 20 yards visibily, soaked to the skin. Over the weeked we had to be on this road once more and also the return journey home. A wide variety of corners, the occasional straight, generally excellent road surface made it an all consuming experience. If you could ever learn the whole road you would be doing very well and have thirty minutes to an hour of one of the best roads around. Awesome. It rained on Skye - but then when doesnt it?

Rode along here in early August 2007 - weather was poor, got wet but road was good despite conditions. Not much on the road in the way of places to stop, some good view points, quite a few coaches when i went along the road, however it was not too difficult to overtake them due to visibility.

Rode this for the first time in June this year. This road has everything. Straights, sweeping bends, everything. Ended up riding it several times and loved it every time. A87 on Skye isnt bad either. Going back next year for a few days.

I hate riding in rain...but a friend and I did this on our zx6r and Tl1000s in torrential rain - and I LOVED it!!! best ride of my life - and I've been riding for 20 years both tight and flowing corners, no surprises, the BEST roadI've been on BAR NONE! (sorry A686)

This is my favourite biking route. You cannot do a trip to the Highlands and miss this out. The road roller coasts through spectacular scenery, you can plan overtakes five corners in advance. Some of this road is very open. I never come back with any photos because it is just too good to stop riding! Make sure you stop at Eilean Donan castle. The food is okay and the castle is in a fabulous position. Don't stop once you get to Kyle, keep following the A87 and then the A850 and A863 to complete a loop of Skye. Do this then head to Fort William; a full days riding but well worth it.

God must have rode a bike! Absolutely amazing section of road built with bikes in mind, and if you carry on through to Skye and do the top loop as well, it's one cracking day out. And for those thinking of doing some touring around the area, you can do no better than stop at Ardgarry Farm in Invergarry, almost at the junction of the A82 and the A87(check out the web site ardgarryfarm.co.uk). John and Joan who run the place will make you more than welcome and there's a pub which does meals a 15 minute walk away.

Have done this one a long time back now, looking forward to doing this next year, its worth continuing on the way back to Invermorriston though the "glen" and back to the A82, did that bit this year and it did not disapoint any of our group of 6, brill surface, good corners, can't wait.

One of the 'must do' roads, has everything a motorbike wants in quantity. The early section going up to the highest point on the run is superb, in fact now I come to think of it, it all is. The only problem I with this road is that modern bikes are too bloody good for it, so you end up with corner velocities that can best be described as 'unforgiving'.

Great piece of road. We enjoyed it so much didn't bother with Skye, just turned around and rode it back. Some great scenery with the road having a many fast corners. Road surface pretty good as well.

Fantastic ride into the Highlands that really shows the best side of biking in Scotland. A great selection of corners, brilliant landscape and some wonderful nature. There can be some animals near the road, but visibility is mostly very open, so they pose little threat. There was no Police presence at all when I was last there, but this may have changed as I saw this road mentioned in a major UK motorbike magazine article recently.
